Due to the global COVID-19 or Corona Pandemic, also Qatar has implemented certain measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

It’s citizens and residents are urged to stay at home as much as possible, and only go out when absolutely necessary, in a recent press statement by the ministry.

In day to day life this means a run to the supermarket is no problem at all, and also pharmacies are remaining open. But shopping malls, public beaches, and other places where people tend to gather to socialize, are closed on government order, until further notice. In other words, a precise date when these COVID-19 restrictions will end, has not been given.

The effect on daily life is significant, streets are very quiet. Noise pollution has noticeably reduced and social gatherings have been put off.
